Isla Navidad

Mike and I were so grateful my mom was willing to come and help me make all of Augusts nursery items AS WELL AS babysit Beck's for a week so we could go on this much needed and deserved vacation to Isla Navidad, Mexico.

This was a company trip—all expenses paid— to Mexico.  Our adventure started at 2 a.m. with 13 of us loaded in a 15 passenger van.  We drove 1 hour to Louisville where we caught our first leg to Charlotte.  We flew from Charlotte to Phoenix (four hour flight), and then from PHX to Mexico (two hour flight).  After going through customs we packed in an SUV and drove 5 hours down this windy, pot hole filled half cobblestone, half paved road to the island of Isla Navidad. I wasn't prepared for that part of the trip and by the 3rd hour into it I was ready to call it quits on the whole trip.  When we first arrived we were already spent and in a pretty grumpy mood; our water was cold so we couldn't get take a shower, our room was freezing, and we found out we had to pay an added room tax expense we weren't aware of each day.  Basically it was a nightmare getting in here.

Thankfully the following days were so much better.  The island was beautiful, completely surrounded by lush jungle, water, and villages.  It was a lot better than any other area of Mexico we have been to over the years.

We had such a nice time relaxing, eating tons of Mexican food, shopping, swimming in the pool, sleeping in, playing games with friends, and finding this secret beach location where the guys could play flag football and jump off the cliffs!
