DIY Lemon Sugar Scrub

So easy—simply stir together sugar, olive oil, and lemon essential oil—yet it is the best treatment for your hands!!

I made these for a group of friends who came over for Game Night. I used empty baby food jars I had and cut some bamboo skewers for them to stir the product.

Game Night

We honestly have the coolest ward ever! We hosted a game night this past weekend and boy oh boy was it a blast! I love all of these couples in our ward—such fantastic, funny, FUN people. I will miss everyone when we leave for the summer. A double bummer is most are moving within the next few months :(.

Everyone brought something yummy to eat

I made the girls some "Lemon Sugar Scrub"

These are fun pics of us playing the hilarious charade game "Rollick". The girls ended up KILLING the guys!!

DIY Valentine's

I had so much fun wrapping these gifts for friends and Mike for Valentine's—pretty self explanatory.

Chocolate covered Oreos in a mason jar with V tags and cupcake liners
A gift for my niece's birthday
Spiderman comic book wrapping paper

Heart garland made out of paint swatches

Mike's sweet Valentine's to me!

I also had a great time putting together this fortress in our living room and surprising Mike with a romantic movie night!!

Valentine's Day 2012

HAPPY VALENTINES!!

This was Beck's first Valentine's! It was fun being able to share this day of love with my little baby boy!

I woke this morning to creative posters our living room wall with things Mike loves about me, which made me feel SUPER DUPER special! Our wall ended up being a homage to our love for each other as I had also made a heart garland, and written a beautiful poem I found on a dry eraser board. I had fun this year tapping into my creative gene and making Mike's gifts unique via newspaper wrapping, cupcake liners, and rubber bands.

After a quite afternoon Mike planned to take me to my favorite place for seafood—Lob Dog :) but after realizing we'd have to wait an hour to eat we decided to forgo the cheddar biscuits and crab legs and grab our second favorite, which happened to be located in the mall of all places—Greek food. I have to say it was the most genius idea ever! I realized that going to a nice, crowded, over priced dinner on Valentine's is HIGHLY overrated! Not only did we spend less than half of what we would have and dined on the yummiest meal ever, but we got our food in 5 minutes, we didn't have to leave a tip, and Beck's had the greatest time people watching. It was a great combination!

After dinner I invited Becks and Mike into a "fortress" I had previously set up in the afternoon while I summoned Mike away. It ended up being a smash! Beckahm LOVED it; his entire face lit up when he saw the lights and played on all the pillows; it was like he entered a magical land. Mike thought it was pretty sweet as well; we both wished we had a room like this in our home!

After putting Becks to bed we made popcorn, Mike was so thoughtful to pick us up ingredients to make Italian Sodas—my fav, and we grabbed our favorite treats and watched a movie we both wanted to see when it first came out—"Anonymous". I don't know how well Mike liked it but it was totally up my English brain alley. It made me even more intrigued who the REAL Shakespeare is! I can't wait to find out on the other side.

It was a wonderful Valentines!! Enjoy the many pics!

Babysitting

We had so much fun babysitting our little niece, Tayte, while her parents and sisters went to CA for three days. We went to the park, made a monster box, played with balloons, made playdough and a bubble snake blower, did a science experiment, jumped on the tramp, and had fun playing with toys. It was so much fun to be able to get to know Tayte better. She is such an independent little girl; she did exceptionally well with her family away.

We also babysat the three Eastman kiddo's a week later. Mike quickly became the "favorite uncle" after he showed them a favorite past time of ours—sliding down the staircase on a mattress.

We were also fortunate to be here to celebrate Beck's cousin—Ty's—6th birthday!!
