Mike's Art For Silent Auction

I received a FB message from a dear friend—Megan Wettstein—who brought to my attention that an auction would be held in Utah to raise money for a high school acquaintance of ours whose children have bubble boy disease. She asked if Mike would be willing to donate some of his bird paintings for the auction. We were both honored to be apart of such an event. These are the two pieces of art he completed. I am so proud of him for using his talents to help others; they turned out exceptionally well!

If any can attend the auction here is the info:

DIY Quiet Book

I loved the quiet books my mom made us when we were kids. I wanted so desperately to make one for Beckahm and with the help of my mom we finally completed it. We started before Becks was born, and because she lives out of state we didn't finish it till he was about 5 Months. I never knew how hard these books were to make (tedious is a better word); I have vowed to never make one, ever again! :)

These next two pages I came up with for Becks because he LOVES tags, ribbons/string, and feeling different textures of material

Baking

I have been baking the past two days for two reasons: 1) to help the YW in my ward raise money for YW camp, and 2) to send in a care pkg I made my sister who is near to her due date with TWINS!

It was a lot of time spent in the kitchen but it was well worth it, everything turned out sinfully delish. I ended up making four different goodies:

These are the ones I made for the YW camp auction. YUM!!!

For my sisters "perfect day" pkg, I filled up a mason jar (great thing about the mason jar is she can use it for storing other things) with some daily necessities like mini altoids, Advil, a pack of gum, hand sanitizer, lip balm, kleenex, a mini box of chocolates, some other small goodies I managed to squeeze in there, and a pen because she is always making liView Blogsts. I also attached a magnetic shopping list to the outside with some cute "you amaze me" ribbon, and secured it to the back with a clothespin. Here is the finished product. Pretty cute I'd say!

I packaged the chocolate dipped oreos in a cute brown and pink box with some vintage tissue paper and used these cute bird stickers I found for some added decor on the outside.

After adding the decadent desserts I filled the box with popcorn in place of packing material, 1) because she loves it, 2) it is a lot cheaper, 3) what a cute idea!!

Voila—pkg ready to ship!!

DIY Old Frame Used As A Vanity

All of my cool, old frames are in storage so I went to the .99 store and found this silver frame. I put a black and white photo from an old NYC calendar I already had, in the frame and added some film scrapbooking ribbon around the edges. Then I added the letters "B-A-T-H" (another scrapbooking supply I had on hand) to the glass for some extra decor.

This now serves as my vanity to store away in my bathroom closet—keeping things neat, organized, easily accessible.

(I used a baby food jar to store the makeup brushes that I use on a daily basis, bobby pins, and elastic hair bands).
