Rest of Week with Family

Just a quick update on the rest of the weekend:

Sunday we went to Michelle's ward and then headed over to Mom's to bless Tayte. She was so cute, dressed in the dress Kimber was blessed in when she was a baby. She was calm the entire blessing. It was so neat to hear and see Dave bless his baby—I am so glad I had the opportunity to be apart of that special moment.

We had dinner at Stacey's—potato salad, turkey sandwiches, jello salad, and homemade ice cream.

Monday some of the fam went on a hike in the morning and then we all met at Stacey's for Dave's infamous brunch he makes: sticky rice, eggs, avocado, tomato, summer sausage, kalmata olives, hot sauce and lime juice—yum! What a treat it was! I am so proud of Dave, I didn't know he was such a good cook!

We sat outside and visited for a while, had some good laughs, and then Michelle and I went to see Twighlight which was pretty good but also super cheesy at parts ( at least we got a few good laughs out of it). We went to dinner afterwards at this Greek restaurant in GP. It is always so much fun to be with my sister, I love her so much! We decided, when we saw the trailer for "Eat, Pray, Love," with Julia Roberts, coming out in August, that we are going to read it together—I heard it is a book you want to share with someone you love— I am excited to have that to do together.

It was sad to say goodbye to Dave and Kimber; it was so good to spend some time with them and their family.

Weekend in Grants Pass, OR

I love being with my family they make me laugh, smile, and feel so loved. I am grateful that I was able to come spend the weekend with Dave and Kimber and be apart of Taytes blessing.

These are some pictures of Saturday when we went on the Jet Boat and had a bbq and smores at Michelles afterwards. It was so much fun being in nature, getting wet, enjoying the sun, eating a yummy brunch and a yummy dinner, and of course being around all of my family.

101 to eating smores:

Smother it all over your sisters face!

Weekend with Friends

What a great weekend! I am so sad to see it come and go!

Friday one of the girls in our office, Cassi, threw a baby shower for Bethany who is due in two weeks—can't believe it!! She decorated the house so cute, Martha Stewart like—she is so creative! We socialized, asked Bethany all of these baby questions (anticipations about the baby, fears, what she is looking forward to, etc.). I am so excited for her and Jay and so excited to see their new baby boy!

Saturday I actually went out selling with Mike—my first time!!!! Boy was it a fun experience! It makes me appreciate so much more the job Mike does every single day. I honestly don't know how he does it, but he is really good at it. I just stood back in awe at how good he is at his techniques. It was so much fun to work as a team (of course I was just there to support him more than anything and smile at all the people we'd meet) and spend the entire day together.

We took a lunch break and had some yummy Greek food—Greek lamb is so good, we love Greek food. After lunch we headed back out to pound the pavement for a few more hours, which was hard after taking a nice break. We ended up pulling down two sales!!! It was a gratifying experience getting in the door and having a sale to go through. I was really intimidated about the experience but once I realized that it was actually kind of fun talking to/meeting different people, the intimidation went away.

I think I enjoyed the experience the most because of how it allowed me to understand half the things all the guys in the office talk about at dinners. I can now laugh and appreciate what they talk/joke about. And it is also nice to know what Mike actually does each day and that I can now appreciate his hard work so much more.

The office reached their dinner goal and we got to go to BJ's family restaurant. Mike and I sat down at the "singles" end of the table with all the boys (don't know how we end up always doing that but we always have some great laughs).

Sunday Mckell, Jay, Bethany, Mike and I headed to Leavenworth—an authentic German Town 3 hours east of —and spent the day seeing the sites. It was a lot of fun to stroll through the shops, eat yummy authentic German food, and take some silly pictures. The scenery is gorgeous, you honestly feel like you are in the Alps; it is breathtaking.

Mike and I got some handmade chocolate—roasted hazelnut praline and salted carmel in dark chocolate—YUM; sampled aged cheeses, bought some yummy candy, a raspberry cream cheese strudel, and of course we ate at a yummy German restaurant. We didn't know how much we'd enjoy German food but we really did; it was tasty! On the way home Jay was nice enough to stop at a local food stand and we picked up some cherries. We love food!!
It was such a fun weekend! I am sad to see it end. I am also sad to leave Mike in a few days! We always have so much fun together; I will miss laughing with him everyday. I am excited to spend some time with my family though and see Dave's new baby girl. Oregon here I come!!

Oh and I almost forgot I finally dyed my hair (again for the 5th time). Here are the before and after pics. It is pretty dark and it is still not the color I want to be but it is a lot better than what it was—orangie blonde.
