Summer Fun

I haven't really been posting a lot of things Mike and I have done lately, so I decided to do a bit of catch up. We have been enjoying our summer here and the things we have been able to do on our days off. Last week we were unable to do much of anything for the 4th because it rained, but we did get to see the spectacular fireworks show broadcast on TV (it was one of the best fireworks shows I have seen in my life time) and we ate at a new hamburger dive—Dicks—which was decent.

Monday the office had a BBQ get together in celebration of the 4th. It was so much fun being with everyone in the office, enjoying each others company, watching the guys play a game of football, eating yummy food, and being by the beautiful lake. The scenery in WA is unprecidented (just wish it didn't rain so much, but I guess that is how it remains so green and lush all year round).

This weekend the guys hit their dinner goal and we were able to go to The Cheesecake Factory. I don't know about Mike because he had to be split up and sit with three of the girls, but I had such a good time visiting with Bethany and Mckell—I haven't laughed that hard in a long time; such wonderful, cute, funny girls they are!! We were all going to go to Leavenworth, this cute German town about 2 hours east of us, but Jay forgot he had tickets to see the Yankees play the Mariners, so we decided to push that adventure off till next Sunday (something to look forward to).

Mike and I did have a wonderful day off together at the races; the weather was gorgeous! It was Mikes first time, and other than waiting for each new race to start, I think he enjoyed it. It is one of my favorite things to do, especially when you can bet on the race. Mike and I ended up breaking even. He bet on one race and one of the jockeys fell off and spooked the other horses, which was unlucky for everyone that bid.

I thought of Donovan while I was there—the first one to introduce me to horse racing when I was a teenager at the Del Mar Race Tracks. What good times those were!

We went to eat at a new Mexican restaurant—Muy Macho— that was located in a place that made me feel like I was in the hood in Mexico. Luckily we made it out alive and the food wasn't half bad :)

. . . Oh, it is unfortunate when the weekend ends! That is the hard thing about summer sales: only one day off a week together! UGH!

Remember when michelle, you and I went to the horse races dressed all fancy and sat in the nice booths and had dinner or was it lunch?? Did we wear those gigantic dressy hats?? It was a fun time. I love the races at Del Mar. Love that tie you are sporting, makes me want to go wear the one I bought. I love your fashion creations. I am your biggest fan, i think?
