Ward Christmas Party

I am happy to say I can officially check off the ward Christmas party on my to do list. Oh the planning, prepping, and preparing—all of the "p's" that can lead to stress and anxiety— is finally over.

In reality it went pretty well considering there were only two people on the committee and I was one of them. I am so happy I was able to work with my friend and now loyal confident Shelbie. I am grateful for people that are equally dedicated, reliable, and productive; it makes event planning run so much smoother. And I am quite appreciative of our husbands who weren't "officially" called as party planners but helped us decorate, watch our kiddos, and were there to support us through slight moments of insanity.

We ended up hosting a Christmas breakfast this year, which was new for our ward. I was told that we had the best turn out the ward has ever seen, which was like music to my ears; it seriously made all of the hard work and effort worth it. We had the primary perform a live nativity, we had random people stand up and carol (the YM/YW started it off by doing a flash mob carol, which turned out so good), we had two photo booths sent up for families to take photos (Mike was gracious enough to paint on of the backdrops), we had a hot coco bar with crushed candy canes and different kinds of holiday marshmallows, we made a
"Santa's Nice List" that we had the kids sign and posted it later next to our bishops office, and we of course had a special visitor—Santa flew in from the North Pole to greet all of the kiddos.

We truly have the best ward. I am so grateful for all of the love, support, and help we received. We never want to leave this ward, but I also never want to be in charge of another event :).
