A day to recommit and celebrate LOVE!
Mike and I had a simple, yet enjoyable V-day. I woke up to a beautiful, thoughtful hand made card from Mike that listed all the things he loved about me, along with a gorgeous orchid in a fushia pink pot. It melted my heart!
Nika was my Valentines gift two years ago. She loves hanging out on our shoulders and having us hold her.
After we went to the gym we made some delicious Valentines Day sugar cookies with pink and red frosting. We got the recipe from Mikes mom—they are so soft and yummy!
SUGAR COOKIES
Start with 2 1/2--2 3/4 C Sifted flour
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp Salt
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup (crisco)
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup sour cream
Mix dry ingredients first then add to wet ingredients
Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness, place on greased cookie sheet
Bake at 400 for 8-10 min (you want them to be soft cause they will harden a bit).
Frosting:
Cream cheese and butter in equal amounts, vanilla, salt, powdered sugar, and cream or half and half
In the afternoon I took Mike to get some yogurt at Ju Ju Berri
Then we went to Color Me Mine, a place Mike took me to on our very first date. I had the idea, since we are not only celebrating our love today but the love we have for little Beckahm, to paint him a plate that he can use every birthday (for the breakfast he chooses or his cake) and/or every other special occasion that has to do with him. I thought this would be a fun tradition for every child we have—to create a personalized plate for them from their mom and dad and sibling(s) who came before them. We still have to get it fired but this is a glimpse of what it will look like and our pictures at the shop. We are so excited to pick up the final product on Saturday.
This black and blue "POW" plate was our inspiration
Evening: we rented the movie "Life as We Know It"—so stinkin cute—which is now one of our new favorite romantic comedies, and ordered in some delish chinese for dinner.
We love all of you and hope you had a wonderful day celebrating your love with those around you and for those in your life.
I also dedicated this song to Mike today, I love the lyrics!

Where were our cookies?? Just kidding! We were gone all day yesterday anyways.
Okay so stinkin cute. LOVED that plate!!! Super cool design and the colors. What a great idea. I may have to steal it when ever I find a cool pottery place to do something like this! I might just pay you guys to make me one, MIKES artistic abilities are SICK! Such talent. BTW your baby bump is adorable!!!
Sorry Kimber, haha I forgot I told you we'd bring some over. Pregnancy brain! We were running out of time anyway cause I didn't think the pottery place would take so long. We will have to make it up to you.
Thanks Dre. We can totally make you one if you want. Just let us know. I am sure they have a Color Me Mine out there, google it. It is a fun activity to do and I am sure you would love it cause you love painting! Go right ahead and steal the idea if you want :).
Hey and thanks to both of you for helping me out passing me along some baby stuff! Life savers!
Yes, Yes, Yes. I would love to make one for Ashton and Jaida's birthdays coming up. I will google and let you know what I find . . . if not again I will pay you (and a little extra for Mike's artistic talents). So glad I can help. I am always here and would love to help in any way I can even after little beckahm is born! I am right in the thick of the BABY thing!
