Saying Goodbye to Niyonsenga

My heart breaks getting the news today that the child we have sponsored for 2 years has passed away. We honor the 10 years of Niyonsengas life tonight. He was one of 4 children to Josephine and Celestin. He would help get water for the people in his village and tend to the children. He would also help the elderly at his church.
The money we were able to give helped provide him with an education, give him access to hygiene items, medical supplies, and the opportunity to be in a center where he learned about Jesus Christ. Many children in Rwanda are rarely afforded these basic human rights that we take for granted every day.
He loved to play soccer and marbles. He loved it when it rained. His favorite color was yellow. He wanted to be a doctor when he grew up so he could help those in his village.

🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for his family—I can’t even imagine burying my 10 year old son. We are sorry we couldn’t do more and wish we had the time to have visited you in your country. Beckahm misses you already and hopes to meet you in heaven one day. We love you! We will miss writing and receiving letters. May you be at peace; may you rest; may God forever keep you in his loving care #RIP #niyonsengaeric #Rwanda #compassionworks
